People who draw on care and support
Adult social care services support people with a wide range of needs at different times of their life.
For example:
- physical disabilities
- frailty
- learning disabilities
- autism
- sensory impairments
- mental health needs
- vulnerability and/or at risk of abuse
- substance misuse
- palliative or end of life care
(this list is not exhaustive and may vary depending on the setting and the individual)
Social care is about weaving a web of support and relationships in our local communities that we can all draw on to live our lives the way we want to, with meaning, purpose and connection, whatever our age or stage in life.
We all want to live in the place we call home with the people and things that we love, in communities where we look out for one another, doing things that matter to us.
